My divorce case had been lingering for almost 2 years. It got dismissed after 18 months so I had to refile in August. Our magistrate suggested that we use a court appointed mediator and I was totally against it. My soon to be ex-husband had worked with several counselors and mediators and had non...e of those sessions were successful. But my attorney suggested that we give it try and reminded me that I had nothing to lose since we wouldn't be charged. The court appointed Susan and she was ideally suited for our case as she understood the complexity of owning multiple rentals since she also owns property. She patiently listened to both sides and surprisingly remembered everything we said... "mind of steel". When there were gridlocks, Susan made suggestions that we agreed upon. I guess having someone new on our case with a fresh perspective made me want to give more to get this resolved. She pointed out that the longer this continues to drag on the more we lose. Susan got a lot accomplished in 6 hours and needs to be commended for her patience, compassion, experience and intelligence. I am pleased that we had her on our case and with any luck, we will be divorced by the end of year!
