A Fort Wayne woman shot while waiting in line at the downtown Fort Wayne Taco Bell drive-through. Suit was brought, claiming lax security, The Wells Circuit Court dismissed the case finding Taco Bell ... owed no duty. The Indiana Court of Appeals reversed the lower court and allowed the suit to go forward. A Wells County judge originally ruled against Sonya Winchell, but the appellate panel found the restaurant owed her a duty to ensure her safety and a jury should decide whether Taco Bell met that obligation.
