Biography
Joe, a Lake County resident, joined the firm in 1976 and was made Principal in 1979. He has significant experience counseling business clients on a host of transactional issues including mergers, acquisitions, sales, and financing. He also assists business clients pertaining to business formation, organization, governance, financing and management. Joe also assists clients in the areas of estate planning and tax planning.
In 1999, Joe served as lead counsel for the acquisition of the Cleveland Indians baseball team by the Lawrence Dolan Family. Since that time, he has also served as VP/General Counsel of the Indians, counseling the team on the exceptionally wide variety of legal issues professional sports teams face.
In 2006, Joe also served as lead counsel for the creation of the Regional Sports Network known as SportsTime Ohio. He stayed on to serve as general counsel to the company in its daily operations. SportsTime Ohio was sold to Fox Sports at the end of 2012 in a transaction successfully negotiated and completed by Joe.
Joe remains active as an advisor or board member to numerous companies and community organizations.
