John James Roszczyk

Background

Raised in Northeast Ohio, John J. Roszczyk (sounds like "ROSS-check") embraces the values of his upbringing, and looks for ways to make things better in everything he does. John worked as a young reporter for his hometown newspaper in Warren, and went on to earn his journalism degree from one of the best schools in the country. But realizing he could more directly help others by practicing law, John and his wife, also an Ohio native, settled in Northeast Ohio and immersed themselves in their community.

In 2000, John earned his Bachelor of Science in journalism from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio; in 2003, John earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Akron School of Law in Akron, Ohio.

Experience

A skilled negotiator with a keen eye for finding the most advantageous solutions for his clients, John has secured $6.4 million (and counting) for his clients. John has practiced law for more than 10 years and is well-versed in civil litigation and personal injury matters. Drawing on his past experience in the defense of commercial loan, construction defect, premises liability, and legal malpractice cases, John has dedicated himself to fighting for injured and victimized Ohioans. Before founding Baker & Roszczyk, John practiced law for northeast Ohio firms Amourgis & Associates, Giffen & Kaminski, LLC and Janik, LLP.

Passions

John is a family man who, along with his wife Heather, the Akron Entrepreneurship Fellow with the Fund for Our Economic Future, is raising his son Henry and daughter Juniper with the same values that his father and grandfather instilled. They spend their time together hiking and reading, and some day maybe, traveling cross-country together. John also supports the Cuyahoga Valley Countryside Conservancy, the Campaign for Human Rights, and WKSU 89.7.
