A.C. vs. N.J., Indiana Court of Appeals, Case No. 20A04-1301-DR-37
Oct 31, 2013OUTCOME: Precedent set in Indiana. Same sex couples who raise a child together, but then separate, may seek visitation with the child if it is in the child's best interests. This is now the same standard of law for opposite sex married couples.
Our firm represented A.C. in her appeal to obtain the right to visit the child whom she and her ex-domestic partner, the birth mother, had raised together. A.C. had not adopted the child and after her ... relationship with the birth mother ended, the birth mother said she could no longer see the little boy whom A.C. considered her son.
