Having been a life long resident of Columbiana County, Ohio I believe that I am in touch with the strengths and weaknesses of our area and the clients that I serve. Many of our communities and residents have faced economic challenges in the past 21 years that I have been practicing. Being in tune with the people allows me to relate and communicate in a casual yet effective manner.
I also understand the devastation that drug and alcohol addiction can wreak on a community. Having gone through a terrible period of active addiction and come out the other side with the aid of friends and family and the Ohio Lawyer's Assistance Program, I understand the situation and how to recover. We do recover!
Finally, I am blessed to have a great extended family as well as my immediate family which consists of my wife Wendy, our daughter Addison (just now 5!) and Wendy's three children Lindsay, Samantha and Michael. We are proud of them all and try to encourage them to work hard and do the next right thing!

Very Professional!
I would highly recommend hiring Richard Hoppel. My husband and I hired him for our Bankruptcy in October and it was quick and easy. He explained everything very thoroughly and if we had any questions he was always very quick to get back to us, Through Email or phone. Really nice guy also.

“As indicated, I have been disciplined by the Supreme Court for things that I did while I was in active addiction. By the grace of God I have been sober since October 23, 2008. The Supreme Court recognized my commitment to sobriety and to making full and complete restitution to my clients (which I have done). I am now a husband and father of a beautiful child. Life is different and so am I-THANK GOD!”
