Mr. Shook WAS kind, caring and patient. I would have recommended him to anyone needing help. Now I've been asking him for over 2 mos to help me follow up with my previous case, (I believe it is simple) and for 6 mos to help to help to finish [my Final Wishes paperwork, DNR orders and my WILL which we... began together, when I need help, and he just disappeared !i CANNOT GET A RETURN call or even a text when I really need his assistance with a previous case, and he has my MOST IIMPORTANT paper work! I will respond to this positively WHENEVER HE DOES!! I do not know Why I am being ignored my bill was paid at the time in full. And as good and helpful as he once was, Now I am feeling neglected and unimportant on 2 issues. I even delivered personally a hand written hand delivered letter to his office in Toledo begging him to PLEASE contact me because of the urgency and still no reply. WHY????

I could go through the litany of reasons why Dave was such a bad decision, but I will save myself the typing and you the eye strain. Keeping it to short: - Unresponsive (days, weeks, months). I ended up filing a motion to extend my case personally a day before the hearing, which was rejected ...by the Magistrate, only to have Dave finally contact me the morning of the hearing. - Unreliable, see above and below: - I had to edit my own judgement document, and what ended up being submitted was materially different than what was agreed upon. This was egregious enough that I thought long and hard about possible punitive actions. - Missed our filing dates. The meat'n'potatoes: the case settled neutral. No worse than I was before, and no better. I'd like to say it was money well spent, however as the arguments were constructed by me, the headache of dealing with someone so unprofessional was immense, and the anxiety caused by the lack of communication all make this a net-negative in my books. In closing, if you plan on hiring Dave think long and hard... Check his other reviews. When you have a polar swing between folks that engaged him you should tread lightly, if you are risky enough to tread at all.

He treated me very unprofessionally in my case. Never returned my calls, was nearly impossible to get a hold of. He knew what he was doing, but it took him nearly 3 times longer than it should have to resolve my case. Was constantly "losing" and "misplacing" required forms to fill out. Very lazy, ver...y disorganized. I would never work with David Shook again, and would never recommend him to anyone for any type of legal counsel. Stay far away.
