I was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. I eventually moved to Toledo, Ohio to pursue my Law Degree at the University of Toledo, graduating three years later. During Law School I was active in the Moot Court Association and worked for the Ohio 6th Circuit Court of Appeals. In November of 2008 I was sworn in by the Supreme Court of Ohio as a member of the Ohio Bar. I was admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio in May 2009.
I am active in the Toledo Bar Association as a Member of the Young Lawyers Committee and the Bar Admissions Committee. I have been appointed counsel by judges in the Lucas County Common Pleas Court for both original criminal cases as well as appeals, and in the Lucas County Juvenile Court.
I am a board member of the Pat Miller Foundation for the Eleanor M. Kahle Senior Center in West Toledo. I am a national member of the Order of Barristers and have received public service recognition from the Equal Justice Works/Pro Bono Legal Corps/AmeriCorps and Supreme Court of Louisiana & Louisiana State Bar Association.
I take a hands-on approach to the practice of law. I am enthusiastic about the law and enjoy solving problems. I look for creative ways to best represent my clients and won’t shy away from a difficult case. I understand that hiring an attorney is always done out of necessity, and compassion is a must in my business. Therefore I try to be the type of attorney that I would want to hire. I make every effort to return phone calls within a reasonable amount of time. I am willing to explain in great detail the law and how it relates to your case. I am honest with my clients 100% of the time. I attempt to be reasonable with everyone that I come in contact with, whether they are clients, opposing parties or counsel, or court personnel. However, I take every step to make sure that my clients get the representation they deserve and all the rights and defenses they are entitled to.

Fathers beware!(CSEA Administrative Hearing Review Botch)
Michael is a cookie-cutter lawyer. If you’re a father staring down the barrel (figuratively), I would avoid him. Before retaining Michael, he told me that he was confident he could get my CSEA-recommended child support order down. However, during the case (after retaining him), he switched the narrat...
Conventional wisdom and my team tell me that I should thank you for the review, be contrite and apologize that you didn’t get the experience you expected. But such a cookie cutter response isn’t really on-brand for me. Yes, my analysis changed between our initial consultation and the trial. But the facts changed during that time, which is typical in family law. Yes, we talked about the risks and potential rewards of trial v. settling. You chose trial and it paid off for you. The way I prepared you for the trial was strategic. Over-rehearsed testimony comes across as disingenuous. You pay me to know the best way to get your point across to the court. Same thing with my response to your ex’s objection; I played to the audience. We discussed your options at every juncture and ultimately, I was able to get you a significant deviation in your child support. It was all strategic, and I’d do it all again. The delay in notice to you was caused by the post office, which sucks. But it didn't change what or how we did anything. And I never recused myself from your case. I'm still your attorney while we wait for the Judge to decide the objections. I think your real issue lies in the custody and child support laws, and how they are applied in Ohio. You and I can agree that they are far from perfect. I think they are rooted in antiquated gender stereotypes of ‘nurturer’ and ‘provider.’ There have been several legislative initiatives in Ohio to update the law, though none have succeeded. I have to play by the rules that are currently in place. I disagree that this case could have been a watershed moment in Ohio jurisprudence. This wasn’t the type of case that would get the attention of anyone in Columbus. If you really want to effectuate change, I suggest you start by talking to your Ohio Congressman or Senator. Ask them to make changes that give fathers a fair shake in Ohio.

Amazing experience
I thought from the beginning that my case was just to complicated . My son passed away a few yes ago .. I went from having custody to a botched court hearing with another attorney, which caused me to end up with visitation. Over the following year things we...
Thank you! Life is messy, which makes custody and visitation cases complicated. My job is to uncomplicate it as much as possible. I'm glad to we were able to come to a good resolution for and the grandkids. I wish you and your family the best.

Highly recommend
Attorney Bryant was highly recommended to me and I would also highly recommend. Attorney Bryant was straightforward and honest with me throughout my case. I had been trying to get custody of my grandchild for 7 years and was unsuccessful. I hired Attorney Bryant and within 4 months the judge awarded ...
Thank you! And though I would love to claim credit for the quick results, much of it was the result of timing. But, I guess, there is something to be said for being opportunistic. It also helps to have a reasonable and responsive client! Most importantly, when we are dealing with kids, we always try to be mindful of the fact that they grow, develop and change so rapidly that they exist on a different time scale than adults do. I am glad that my team was able to get you a positive result for you and your family. I wish everyone the best.

Thank you so much. I try to make the dissolution process as easy and streamlined as possible. It is so much easier on everyone, especially kids, if we can move the process along quickly and quietly. You had enough to worry about. I'm glad I could take a little off your plate. I hope you never need me again, but if you do, you know where to find me.

Professional, Hard Working, Attentive, Honest
I hired Michael to represent me in an old, ongoing, court ordered spousal support agreement. My ex-spouse is self employed and refused to comply with the spousal support agreement made during our divorce 5 years ago. Michael was eager to help me with this. He was informative, patient and very profes...
