Driver Flees Scene after Striking Pedestrian

A young woman in Columbia, South Carolina, was driving her vehicle late at night when she struck a pedestrian on the side of the roadway, severely injuring him. She fled the scene and was later apprehe ... nded and charged with hit and run with great bodily injury. Even though the injured pedestrian was charged with being at fault, a time demand was sent for the policy limits, including the property damage portion of the policy, due to the punitive damages exposure. The property damage was documented through a picture of the pedestrian's cell phone that was broken when he was hit by the car.
