Condemnation case right after the condemnation laws changed in 2006. Defendant Ku owned a building just North of the Sprint Arena which the City attempted to buy for a development. Ku would not sell ... and so I filed a condemnation case for the City. Case ended up being about the quality of the City's appraisal used to make its offer for the property. This case went to the Court of Appeals which we also won.
OUTCOME: My client won $475,000. Case went to the Court of Appeals which we also won.
Defendant Rivera owned the old Isis Theater at 3100 Troost in Kansas City, MO. City ordered Defendant to repair or stated it would be demolished as a Dangerous Building.
