Kevin Bronson Gardner

I am a driven advocate for the immigration community. When I accepted an externship in the summer of 2017 at a non-profit immigration firm, I knew I had found my calling. Immigration law fits me like a glove because I am fluent in Spanish, I love helping people, and I love learning about other cultures.

One of my proudest achievements was authoring an article entitled, "Prisoners in the Face of Gladiators: Providing a Sword and Shield to Aliens in Removal Proceedings Through Court-Appointed Counsel." This article discusses the troubling fact that, unlike criminal defendants, aliens in removal proceedings do not have the right to an appointed lawyer if they cannot afford one. The Akron Law Review selected this article for publication and gave it the “Best Note or Comment” award.
