If your dad lives in your household then you'll file the I-864A. Otherwise, he'll have to file the I-864 as a joint sponsor.

If he divorces you and gives you the house in the divorce settlement, most likely you'd have to refinance to remove his name off of the title....

I think going to a charity event with a client is OK. As long as this relationship isn't a romantic one, the attorney wouldn't be breaking any rules.
