Mark Alan McGinnis

Represent clients before federal district courts, appellate courts, and the U.S. Supreme Court, as well as courts and agencies in the State of Ohio. This representation involves First Amendment, equal protection and due process challenges to election laws, voting rights, redistricting, and ballot access cases. Assist clients in following the complex restrictions governing political activity, and advise clients regarding compliance with laws at the local, state and federal level.

Formation and operation of many types of tax-exempt organizations, including public charities, issue advocacy groups, trade associations and political organizations. Advise clients on corporate and tax matters, including complying with state registration requirements, obtaining and maintaining federal and local tax exemptions, and permissible advocacy including compliance with local, state and federal tax and campaign finance laws.

Advise clients regarding compliance with ethics and lobbying laws and other laws regulating the ethical interaction of individuals and business organizations with government at the federal, state and local levels.
