I’ve worked in the human service field over the past 20 years with a number of special needs populations providing educational and behavioral health services. During this time, I’ve come across a number of educational attorneys. None have shown the productive combination of dedication, compassion, ...professionalism, and thorough efficiency that Lauren has shown. I had the pleasure of meeting Lauren when she was completing law school. I was pleasantly amazed at her eye for detail and her solution orientated courses reasoning and problem solving abilities, at this early stage of her career. My experience with Albeit Weiker, LLP more specifically attorney, Lauren Sabo, was more than exceptional and empowering. I hired Lauren to assist me during the COVID-19 pandemic fall restart of my children’s school, because I was having multiple issues with the school’s willingness to create and impl...ement plans that would support the educational needs of my children. COVID-19 made for some very different virtual meeting styles that I was not familiar with, however the virtual meetings proved to be a valuable asset for me, as it reduced the cost of travel time I otherwise would have had to pay. I can say without a doubt that hiring Lauren and the team of attorneys at Albeit Weiker, LLP was the best decision I made and without Mark Weiker and Lauren’s expertise and advice I would not have been able to produce the same positive educational outcomes for my children. While I was able to attend meetings in person, Lauren attended via zoom and this worked well for me and the four different teams. She was able to assist me in receiving compensatory education services for my youngest son, that I otherwise would have been denied. Collaboration was great and plans were created and implemented to support my children and for that I am truly grateful. Another issue that Mark and Lauren helped me address, was my child’s Covid-19 sports waiver that I refused to sign because in doing so I would have been waiving my educational rights under the Individuals with Disabilities Educational Act and American Disability Act. The wording of the waiver was concerning and had I not had Lauren and Mark my child would not have been permitted to play football unless I signed the waiver. They negotiated with the school lawyer (whom was unwilling to speak with me) to approve a redlined waiver for me to sign and ultimately allowed my child to participate in school sponsored sports and activities.
