HT was referred to me by my corporate attorney when I had to dig out from under an IRS mess created by my naiveté and a sloppy bookkeeper. He got results that my new accountant and I could not get. I called Mr. Astrov because our tax software warned that our audit risk is high since I own a small business that is less than 3 years old with losses significantly greater than profits while my partner earns a significantly higher income. So, Mr. Astrov confirmed that our tax software's audit defen...se won't provide much material assistance in the event of an IRS audit beyond some basic preliminaries, which was what I suspected. Mr. Astrov gave me helpful advice particular to my tax situation to protect myself via a paper trail to document my small business activities and I will extend my documentation activities based on his advice now. Mr. Astrov was clear about his rates and that fees are based on the complexity of the particular case since on average audits that encompass several tax years require more work than audits that only encompass a single tax year's return. My fingers are crossed that I will not be audited but in the event that I am, I feel more prepared and I'll call Mr. Astrov to retain his services as he has not only extensive tax experience but experience having worked for the IRS and he's very professional and polite.
