State of Alabama v. Zsajarra McMillian
N/AOUTCOME: Time Served
Ms. McMillian was arrested and charged with Murder. She was accused of drowning her child in a mop bucket. The first trial ended in hung jury and a mistrial was declared. The second jury was unable ... to reach an unanimous verdict and another mistrial was declared. The third trial was set and Ms. Millian had already been in jail two years. Due to the length of time, the Prosecutor ultimately offered her "time served" and plead to Manslaughter allowing her to avoid a lengthy prison sentence.
