I was retained by a local commercial construction company to file suit to perfect Mechanic's Liens related to a large residential and a commercial construction project. I filed suit in two cases in t ... he Circuit Court of Madison County to perfect the liens and collect substantial monies owing by the homeowner and business owner. Although, the defendants alleged that my clients (who themselves gave notice of and filed the liens) failed to properly file and record the liens, I successfully negotiated with opposing counsel to reach a compromise and settlement funds were paid to satisfy my client's lien claims.

I filed suit to ... perfect the lien and the defendant filed a counter claim alleging that my client failed to perform according to the contract and in a workmanlike manner. After proceeding with discovery, the defendant made an offer of settlement to satisfy the lien claims made by my client.

I prepared and filed a Petition for a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) seeking injun ... ctive relief for my client. The parties were very hostile and the matter was tried before a Circuit Judge in Madison County to determine whether a TRO should issue and for other relief. During the trial of this case, the parties and their attorneys reached an agreement whereby my client obtained access to and control of the business and copies of financial records necessary to complete preparation of year end financial statements and tax returns.

OUTCOME: Eliminated +75% of credit card debt owed by deceased

I was retained by the children of a gentleman who died with a will, but at the time of his death owed in excess of $75,000.00 in unsecured credit card debt. The only asset owned by the gentleman was h ... is home valued at about $150,000.00. The children were of course concerned that the credit card debt would eat away at a significant part of the value of the family home. I probated the estate for the children/survivors, objected to the creditor's claims filed in probate and managed to eliminate +75% of the credit card debt. The children were elated, the cost savings to the estate and heirs far exceeded my fees and everyone (except the credit card companies) left the process happy.

I was retained by Shah's trial counsel to defend an appeal to the Alabama Supreme Court by Choksi, who sought to set aside a high six figure trial verdict entered against him in the Circuit Court of J ... ackson County. I reviewed a voluminous trial transcript and exhibits , prepared and filed Appellee's Brief before the Supreme Court of Alabama. The appellate court Affirmed the jury verdict. I thereafter completed post judgment discovery (including depositions and discovery requests) that led to payment and satisfaction of the judgment entered in favor of my clients. I was retained to represent the victim of a devastating 18 wheeler / auto accident . My client sustained in excess of $600,000.00 of medical expenses related to life threatening injuries he sustained ... when the driver of a logging truck recklessly drove into his lane and drove over my client's automobile. The case was settled for policy limits of seven figures. I successfully negotiated significant reduction of my client's medical expense/subrogation claims resulting in my client receiving more from the settlement funds. I was personally involved in locating, photographing, and measuring the accident scene. I personally located the 18 wheeler and my client's vehicles at wrecker storage yards and photographed and documented the horrific damages to his vehicle. I worked closely with the family and the victim while he recovered in the hospital and attended and photographed his physical therapy sessions. I prepared a three hundred page settlement demand package I presented to the 18 wheeler driver's insurance company.

OUTCOME: Writ of Mandamus Granted by Alabama Supreme Court - Judgment Collected

I was retained by Lyon Financial Services to collect $113,992.49 owed by Jefferson County Alabama business Buddy's Marineland. Lyon Financial claimed monies owing by way of devault on a business equi ... pment lease, sued and judgment was entered in Minnesota. I was retained to domesticate the foreign judgment in Alabama and collect in excess of $100,000.00. Buddy's retained a large Birmingham firm and aggressively resisted our efforts to enforce the Minnesota judgment in Alabama. The Circuit Judge initially ruled in favor of the defendant. On behalf of Lyon Financial Services I filed with the Supreme Court of Alabama a Petition for Writ of Mandamus, asking that the Supreme Court of Alabama ORDER by Writ of Mandamus the Circuit Judge withdraw his ruling and allow enforcement and collection of the Minnesota judgment in Alabama. The Supreme Court of Alabama ruled in our favor, issued a Writ of Mandamus, granting the relief we requested. We thereafter collected the monies owing (including attorney's fees and costs) and the judgment was satisfied. This matter involved complex litigation and appellate practice before the Supreme Court of Alabama.
