Contacted lawyer regarding AVVO response to question where lawyer requested a ridiculous price for a very short consultation. I thought AVVO was meant for legal advice to be able to consider whether or not to hire a specific lawyer, not to bait people into paying ridiculous prices for short consulta...

Replied last May 08, 2023First, I have no idea who this person is or claims to be: I never provided any advice or consultation to this anonymous poster. Unfortunately, this poster perceives both what AVVO is "meant for" and the fact that a lawyer's time and advice are the stock in trade. Consistently, I post clear disclaimers about any answers to general questions indicating if consultation is required, a fee and other protocols will be involved. Knowing that I never heard from this person, did not provide any advice or agree to represent them, I'm pretty confident this poster remains anonymous for a reason. You should not blame somebody for failing to meet unreasonable and unannounced subjective expectations about professional services you wish to be provided to you. Only the poster of this review knows whether those expectations could have been met. Unfortunately, the poster cannot distinguish between general advice and a consultation.
