Carolyn E. Gutowski

Formerly an Assistant Attorney General, Carrie Gutowski has a passion for public service and has served  as counsel to cities, counties, municipalities, and school districts around Ohio. She has successfully defended all employment-related matters before federal and state courts as well as administrative agencies.

Carrie takes a proactive approach to problem-solving and works closely with each client to develop policies and practices to position the organization for success. A strong believer in the power of face-to-face meetings and teamwork, she develops solutions based on each organization’s unique culture, size, and structure. With this philosophy as a foundation, she negotiates employment and labor contracts and conducts internal investigations for employers who have concerns regarding employee misconduct.

Carrie is dedicated to giving her clients the tools they need to avoid claims of unlawful conduct. To that end, she provides individually-tailored trainings for organizations regarding compliance with state and federal civil rights laws, including sexual harassment seminars, fair housing presentations for real estate organizations, and police liability matters.

Originally from Massachusetts, she now makes her home in Dublin with her husband and two young children. She is a devoted advocate for children with disabilities, and serves on the Nationwide Children's Hospital Family Advisory Council. She is also proud to serve on the Board of Directors for Dreams on Horseback, a non-profit that provides equine-assisted therapy to veterans and individuals with autism and other disabilities.
