OUTCOME: The purported marriage was annulled and the estate was administered and closed in my client's favor.

Even with my years of practice, I continue to learn on a daily basis, case by case. One case that I suspect will remain with me throughout the entirety of my practice took place right here in Orange C ... ounty. My client's father had passed away and she came to my office for help with the probate/estate administration process. She was the only child and her mother had died years prior. I was happy to help her through the tough process. Looking back, I should have known that something would come up. As a result of someone claiming to the be the wife of her father, we had to work together to protect her inheritance and to have the purported marriage annulled.
