Peterson v. Peterson (unpublished Supreme Court Opinion)
Sep 16, 2014OUTCOME: Mother won both at the district court level allowing her to relocated to Sweden with the children, and then again in the appeal that Father filed with the Nevada Supreme Court
I represented the Plaintiff (Mother) in both the district court and the Nevada Supreme Court. This was a Child Relocation Case. By stipulation, Mother got primary physical custody of the two minor ch ... ildren during the course of the divorce. Less than a half year after the divorce, Mother, a Swedish citizen, moved the court to relocate with the two minor children to Sweden, the country from which she moved to the United Stated from. Father filed an opposition to the relocation and tried to have Mother's designation of primary physical custody set aside based upon, among other things, fraud during the divorce proceedings and claiming the move was not in the best interest of the children. After an Evidentiary Heating, the District Court granted Mother's request to relocate and Father filed an appeal with the Nevada Supreme Court.
