OUTCOME: Anthony's client found not guilty on sexual assault of a minor at trial
Anthony’s client already had a felony conviction on his record, which automatically led to a prejudiced fact-finder. Anthony’s client was now being charged with criminal sexual abuse of a minor and cri...minal sexual assault of a minor. Using pretrial motions and well-placed objections, Anthony was able to keep out damaging evidence against his client and admit statements under the excited utterance theory, thus greatly detracting from the prosecution’s main witness’ credibility.
After trial, the client was fully acquitted of the sexual assault charge and only found on the sexual abuse charge. That meant Anthony was able to shave off sixteen years on the ultimate prison sentence, resulting in four years, but a reduction with good time.

OUTCOME: Anthony's client not guilty of stalking and battery after trial
The client was a single mother, accused of battery and violating a no stalking order another woman had entered against her. Despite being offered a plea deal by the prosecutor, Anthony Villalobos advis...ed his client to reject the offer and go to trial. Having done extensive factual research, Anthony Villalobos found and subpoenaed two witnesses to testify to what his client had been telling Chicago police the whole time – that it was in fact N.G., the defendant in the matter, who had been stalked and assaulted and her own child’s school. After Anthony’s closing argument, the judge found Anthony’s client not guilty on both charges the prosecutors brought against her, clearing her good name and ending the chaos she had been put through.

State Farm and Casualty Company v. GLB, Cook County, 2013

OUTCOME: Anthony's client not liable for almost $20,000 in medical and car repair bills after trial
When his clients could not pay the alleged property damage and personal injury bills from this car accident, Anthony Villalobos took this case to trial. The police reports were damning, as they clearly... showed that Anthony’s clients caused the car accident. To make matters worse, one of the client’s had been cited by police at the scene and pled guilty to the criminal charges from the accident. However, at trial, Anthony Villalobos cross-examined the other attorney’s star witness, getting her to admit that she did not know who actually caused the car accident. Using their own photographs against them, Anthony successfully argued at trial that the plaintiff did not know who actually caused the accident. Therefore, the judge found Anthony’s clients not liable for the car accident, so they did not have to pay anything of the nearly $20,000 they were being sued for.

Reverse Mortgage Funding v. J.S., Cook County, 2014

OUTCOME: Foreclosure litigation unmasked lender's wrongdoing so case was dismissed and Anthony's client kept his home
The client and his wife were an elderly couple who had entered into a reverse mortgage with a big financial institution. The odds were absolutely against them. The vast majority of attorneys who handle... foreclosure cases, which are essentially contract cases, simply look to play stall tactics because they think the facts are against them. However, Anthony Villalobos used his extensive knowledge in corporation formation and contracts to look for any technicalities. Anthony Villalobos found that the lending company entered into the reverse mortgage with his client one day before it was federally authorized to do so. Anthony Villalobos brought that fact to the opposing attorney and got the case completely dismissed against his client, allowing him and his wife to stay in their home.

OUTCOME: Anthony's motion to suppress granted and DUI case fully dismissed
The client was being prosecuted for a DUI. As always, Anthony Villalobos had the client come in so Anthony could review the evidence with his client. Reviewing the Illinois State Police dashcam, Anthon...y saw that his client had properly used his turn signal and there was no reason that he should have been pulled over. It was simply that the Illinois State trooper was looking to make stops because the trooper was looking for DUIs. Anthony Villalobos immediately filed a motion to suppress, playing the trooper’s own dashcam video in his motion to suppress the evidence, showing his client did nothing wrong to be pulled over, so the breathalyzer results had to be thrown out. The judge agreed with Anthony Villalobos, granting his motion to suppress and tossing the breathalyzer, forcing the prosecutors to drop their case. Anthony’s client was rightfully thankful because the client initially just Googled a DUI lawyer, who quoted him three times what Anthony did and told the client he would just plea him guilty for a light sentence.

OUTCOME: Anthony's client not guilty of domestic violence at trial
Despite facing jail time, Anthony Villalobos advised his client not to take the prosecutor’s plea deal, which included extensive domestic violence classes and fines. Instead, Anthony Villalobos took th...is case to trial and won, fully clearing his client’s name. Initially, the evidence appeared damning. The prosecutor showed the judge surveillance footage of a horrible, late-night argument, with a clearly audible physical altercation. Nonetheless, Anthony Villalobos impeached the prosecutor’s main witness and argued the crucial “beyond a reasonable doubt” standard, successfully convincing the judge that while the surveillance footage certainly showed an argument and alarming sounds of clashing, there was no way to prove beyond a reasonable doubt what actually happened out of the camera’s view. After that argument, coupled with the impeachment of the prosecutor’s main witness, the judge found Anthony Villalobos’ client not guilty, dismissing all charges and removing the order of protection.

OUTCOME: Anthony's client not guilty of narcotics possession at trial
Facing deportation if the client took any sort of plea deal, Anthony Villalobos advised his client to reject the prosecutor’s otherwise favorable offer and take this case to trial. While the evidence s...eemed great for the prosecutor, with multiple Chicago police officers at the scene during the arrest, Anthony Villalobos impeached the arresting officer, proving there were others near the recovered cocaine, so it was impossible to say beyond a reasonable doubt that Anthony’s client possessed the cocaine. From Anthony’s impeachment of the main Chicago police officer, using the police officer’s own report against him, the judge found Anthony’s client not guilty.
