State v. MovingMan
Nov 10, 2011OUTCOME: Case Dismissed
My client owned a moving van and was hired by two men who claimed to have a contract to clean out an abandoned church. He agreed to the terms of employment and drove to the church. He was an elderly ma ... n and was told all he needed to do was drive. He say in the van while the others went in the building. Shortly thereafter the police arrived and arrested all three of them. It turns out the men were breaking into the church and stealing radiators, pipes, and anything else of value. They were each charged with burglary, theft, and criminal trespassing. Neither of the two men who hired my client would admit that they had told him they had a contract. Despite not having the cooperation of the co-defendants I was able to have all of his charges dismissed. He was facing many years in prison but was able to walk away without a conviction
