State v. Cordova de Garcia in Hall County Superior Court. Client charged with trafficking methamphetamine after a large quantity of methamphetamine was found in her vehicle after a traffic stop. Clie ... nt was facing 30 years in prison if convicted, we were able to convince the State to offer her straight probation after identifying multiple issues in a motion to suppress that we filed.

State v. Eluonyechie in Fulton County Superior Court. Client was charged with ID Fraud, Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, and Fraudulent VIN. Hired another attorney to defend him on said charges. ... Other attorney talked him into a plea deal without adequately investigating the case. As a result, client was taken into ICE custody and subject to deportation proceedings. We were retained to file a habeas corpus petition on client's behalf arguing he received ineffective assistance of counsel. After a contested hearing in front of Judge Richardson, our Writ for Habeas Corpus was granted and the client's conviction was undone!

State v. Howell in DeKalb Superior Court. Client was arrested for felony murder after he shot and killed a man who was acting aggressively towards him and his family at an apartment complex pool. DeK ... alb Police Department did a half-hearted investigation and arrested my client where he was held without bond. I was able to investigate further and identify multiple witnesses who corroborated my client's account of acting in self-defense of himself and others. DA's Office consented to a bond to investigate further. Eventually, DA's Office agreed that client's self-defense claim had merit and dismissed all charges!

Cl ... ient was facing 40 years in prison and registration as a sex offender. I filed a statutory speedy trial demand and forced the State to jury trial. The trial ended in a hung jury. The case was set to be retried the following month and at the start of trial the State relented and offered my client a plea to two counts of misdemeanor simple battery with straight probation.

Counts), Obstructing a 911 Call, and Battery - Family Violence. Plea offer from the State was for a life sentence to be served in confinement. Client maintained his innocence of everything except the battery-family violence charge. Went to jury trial and won!

Filed and litigated a motion to suppress based on the police department illegally prolonging the stop of client's car in order to find a legal basis to search his car. Judge McBurney granted our motion to suppress the evidence of the methamphetamine found in the car and the State was forced to dismiss the case!
