My client was arrested and charged with stealing items from his workplace and pawning them. The police charged him with 13 felonies totaling 105 years in prison as a maximum sentence. Once retained I w ... as able to convince the State not to file on 5 counts. Over the next 3 months, I worked tirelessly on his case and this past week we were finally able to come to a plea where the State dismissed 6 more charges and my client only accepted a plea to 2. With these 2 felonies, my client still scored nearly 17 months in prison. I was able to reach a deal and present my client with probation in lieu of prison. From 13 felonies down to 2. Success isn't always defined as getting all charges dismissed, and this was definitely a success for my client and me.
