People v Andrew Zamora
Feb 26, 2014OUTCOME: Homicide case dismissed
SAN FRANSICO, CA, February 26, 2014 San Francisco first degree murder case dropped on the eve of preliminary hearing. After nine months in jail, 25 year old Andrew Zamora was released to his family ... with all charges dismissed. Attorneys Rebecca Feigelson and Adam Gasner were attorneys for Andrew Zamora. Zamora, a San Francisco man charged with murder along with three other individuals in connection with the fatal stabbing of 20-year-old Cameron Myers in Hunters Point in May of 2013, saw their hard work and extensive research on the case rewarded yesterday. Based on a lack of evidence and the interest of justice, prosecutors agreed to dismiss all charges against Andrew Zamora and he was released yesterday. Andrew Zamora, 25, was arrested in Las Vegas on May 21, 2013 in connection with a killing that occurred on May 15, 2013 near India Basin Shoreline Park. He has been in custody since then. Andrew is happy to be going home and is relieved to be vindicated before the preliminary hearing that was set for later this week. Adam Gasner commented after the release: "Today was a great day for Andrew and a great day for justice. Seeing a person who was wrongfully accused of murder walk free is the reason I became a lawyer." Rebecca Feigelson stated: “I believed in my client’s innocence from our first meeting and never wavered in my belief. It feels great when justice is served and an innocent man gets his freedom back.” This case highlights the importance of a strong defense and pre-trial preparation.
