Matthew P. Cook

Matthew P. Cook, a litigation partner at Kerrick Bachert, PSC since August 2017, has practiced law in Bowling Green since 1998. He specializes in insurance defense and handles broad transactional and litigation areas, including civil and commercial litigation, employment law, and professional malpractice. He also provides strategic guidance on contract drafting and compliance for governmental entities and businesses. Matt graduated with honors in 1994 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned his J.D. cum laude from the University of Louisville in 1998. He is admitted to the Kentucky Bar and various federal courts, including the Supreme Court of the United States. An AV Preeminent-rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell, Matt was honored with the Kentucky Bar Association's Outstanding Young Lawyer Award in 2012.
Matt serves on the Board of Governors of the Kentucky Bar Association and is a Life Fellow of the Kentucky Bar Foundation. His exemplary public service was recognized with the 2013 Gwyneth B. Davis Outstanding Public Service Award. Passionate about mentoring and community service, Matt is actively involved in volunteer work and enjoys family life with his wife, Melanie, in Bowling Green.
