State v. D.E
Aug 12, 2014OUTCOME: Not Guilty of Sales
Defendant was under surveillance for the sale of methamphetamine. After a traffic stop he was found to be in possession of nearly 28 grams of methamphetamine, an ounce. His house was subsequently searc ... hed pursuant to a search warrant, where numerous items of paraphernalia were found. After a suppression motion and a motion in limine, the case proceeded to a Jury trial. I was able to successfully put forward to the jury that the Defendant purchased a month's worth of methamphetamine at a time, and all drugs were for personal use. The Jury found my client Not Guilty of Sales, a crime punishable by 5-15 years in prison, and instead found him guilty of a probation eligible offense, Personal possession.
