Through personal circumstances, Steven D. Jaeger, Esq., understands first-hand the need to plan for long-term care and estate issues. Diagnosed with several life-altering auto-immune disorders that have impacted his own estate planning decisions, he has dedicated his career to helping others understand the need for long-term planning, the importance of having a long-term plan in place for one’s family, and the options available to people who are faced with life’s unexpected events.
Steve is passionate about helping families and individuals create a plan to protect themselves, their families, and the assets they have worked to accumulate their entire life. All of this is done with a focus on preserving an individual’s legacy and prioritizing their dignity during the aging process. This involves actual detailed planning meetings to discuss important documents such as Revocable Living Trusts, Irrevocable Trusts, Special Needs Trusts, Last Will and Testaments and Powers of Attorney.
Steve also helps families following the death of a loved one. Whether it be through assisting during trust administration or the probate process in court, he helps guide families in how best to navigate the legal process during these difficult times so that families can grieve for their loss and put their focus and support where it needs to be, with the family.
Steve was a founding member of The Jaeger Firm, PLLC, where he practiced for nearly 13 years, several of which were devoted to only handling estate planning, probate, and elder law matters. Throughout his career, Steve has been or is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, the Northern Kentucky Bar Association, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Academy of Special Needs Planners, the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils, and the Northern Kentucky Association of Estate Planners & Councils. He has also been a member of the Purposeful Planning Institute.
With a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University, he is licensed to practice law in the United States Supreme Court, the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the State of Ohio, the United States District Court: Eastern District of Kentucky, and the following Federal Circuit Courts of Appeal: the First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, Eighth, Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh Circuits.
