Chapter 7/Student Loan Adversarial Proceeding WON!

I was hospitalized in January of 2015 for what I thought was a severe sinus infection, which turned out to be meningitis, then later found out to be Neurosarcoidosis. I was deemed permanently disabled and then began the quick downward spiral of my life. I was on short term disability with work, grant...ed SSDI on my own, then granted long term disability with work, and tried to manage my finances as long as I could because in my mind, I was not disabled and I was going back to work....any day. I was a sinking ship and finally family convinced me to talk to a bankruptcy lawyer. I researched for days and chose Lawrence and Associates due to reviews and reputation. I had good credit the day of my consultation and I bawled trying to tell them my story. Danielle was so understanding and compassionate. We had a plan. I was going to file for Chapter 7 bankruptcy because I could no longer keep up with my monthly bills and medical bills that came out of a 10 week hospitalization. There were so many bumps in the road. I am single, with my own house and we feared I could lose the house due to equity. Danielle was so patient with my questions and luckily things worked out. I was still able to file Chapter 7 and save my house and my car. I was able to discharge all of my medical bills and credit cards, so this was a huge relief to me. Now, we had to deal with student loans. I have a Master's Degree and $80,000 worth of student loan debt. Fortunately, I had already worked with the Department of Education to have my federal student loans discharged due to my disability, which totaled $60,000. However, I still had $20,000 worth of private student loans that I had been paying on since 2002 and based on calculations, we found I had already paid the loan off by more than $4000, but yet I still owed them almost $20,000. This company would not work with me, and since it is considered a student loan, it is nearly impossible to get discharged, even with a disability. Danielle would not give up. She contacted this company through mail, by phone, researched the company, contacted other attorneys who also had issues with this company so she could advise the judge of the company's history and shady behaviors. She was on my side 100% and fought for me until a wrong was made right. Most adversarial proceedings never make it all the way through the proceeding because it is so hard for the "student" to meet the four criteria. Even when the student meets the criteria, sometimes it isn't always seen as a "black" and "white" decision so it is up to the attorney to make the case. Danielle went to bat for me and we won! A student loan adversarial proceeding was won and I also had discharged $20,000 worth of a private student loan. Between my medical bills, credit card bills, and the student loan being discharged, Danielle truly gave me a more manageable start while I adjust to being on SSDI. I hope she knows how much I appreciate everything she has done for me. I would highly recommend her if you need help making a decision or if you decide you want to file. I don't believe you can go wrong with Lawrence and Associates. The staff all around are top notch.

Social Security Disability and slip and fall case

Ms. Rodriguez has been a blessing to me over the past six months dealing with my social security disability claim. She has been on top of my case from day one and got my disability approved quickly after just one appeal. She is always available to talk to me when I call her or she calls me right back.... During my very emotional time she has consoled me and made me understand that everything is going to be better in time and I believe her. Ms. Rodriguez is also working a slip and fall claim for me which I have all the faith in her that she'll do what's right for me since this case has cost me my employment of 23 years because of FMLA. If you can imagine having a fall and following with excruciating pain for over a year now and still continuing to suffer and then lose your job because you're unable to perform the job you've done all your life. I had days I thought I couldn't take it anymore emotionally or financially. But I would call Ms. Rodriguez and she would talk me through it and give me strength to go on another day. I picked Ms. Rodriguez from her website and I feel that was when my luck turned around. If you need an attorney give her a call. She'll be the best thing that happened to you. Don't hesitate.

Above and beyond!

I previously submitted a rating for Ms. Rodriguez a few months ago. She represented me and my family very well in a personal injury matter arising from a car accident. The case had been settled for months when I received an unexpected letter from my health insurance's subrogation department that I mi...ght be forced to repay the company for medical bills that were improperly charged to my health insurance rather than my auto insurance's PIP coverage. I called Danielle and she handled the matter immediately. We often hear that attorneys only want our money, but that simply wasn't the case here as there was no additional fee to be earned. This is someone you can really count on!
