OUTCOME: All charges dismissed
Client was charged with kidnapping and raping a young woman. We took the case to trial and I was able to demonstrate on cross-examination that the accuser had told numerous lies about what she claimed ... happened. We also put on our own evidence and witnesses in support of our theory of the case. The jury ultimately did not believe the accuser's statements based on our case presentation.
OUTCOME: Not Guilty on all Charges
Client's girlfriend had a 13yo daughter who accused him of touching her inappropriately. Through careful and strategic questioning of the girl, I was able to determine that she had made the accusation ... after she had become angry with the client because she believed he was being unfaithful to her. She told her mother and when mother did nothing, she then made the accusation that client had touched her inappropriately. I went and did scene visits with our investigator and we took photographs of the location the girl said the event happened and were able to show the improbability of her version of events. We took the matter to trial and I was able to persuade the jury, through cross-examination of the girl and also through presentation of the evidence we had collected on the case, that the girl had made the accusation because she had wanted her mother's relationship with the client to end and that the allegations were not true. The client would have had to register as a sex offender for life if he had been convicted.
