Youssef Megahed
Aug 21, 2009OUTCOME: Judge Dismisses Charges Against Megahed
Mr. Megahed was accused of terrorism, but had already been acquitted by a jury of his peers. As a permanent resident, ICE decided to try to deport him. One of the Hardest cases of my career turned on ... what we could do to show the lack of evidence the government actually had, literally trying to invent out of veritable tissue paper of evidence. Through aggressive cross examination and an arguement focused on the what the law required. The Judge dismissed the case before we were even asked to put on any evidence. This was a victory for the constitution! Read about it at http://www.nytimes.com/2009/08/22/us/22deport.html
