David Brooks Gray

For more than 30 years, David Gray has focused his practice on representing people who’ve been seriously injured, with a strong emphasis on personal injury and medical malpractice. After building his career at well-known Kentucky firms, including Franklin and Hance and later Goldberg Simpson, where he became a partner. He opened Gray Law to bring that experience to clients in a more direct, personal way. David started learning the craft early; while earning his J.D. at the University of Louisville School of Law, he clerked for his uncle, attorney Larry Franklin, and worked on complex cases that taught him how much details matter. He also earned his bachelor’s degree in government and English from Centre College, a background that supports his clear communication and careful case review. David stays involved in the profession beyond his own caseload by mentoring younger attorneys, helping lead wellness efforts for lawyers dealing with alcohol or substance use issues, serving as vice chair of Seven Counties Services, and volunteering regularly at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. Outside the office, he enjoys Churchill Downs, cooking, boating, and spending time with his wife Tracie, daughters Harper and Peyton, and grandson Brooks.
