Catherine Emily Pierce

Early in her career, Catherine completed internships with the National Legal Aid and Defender Association in Washington, D.C., former Chief Judge Tara Hagerty of the Jefferson County Family Court, and the Indiana Department of Child Services. In law school, she participated in the Robert and Sue Allen Ackerson Law Clinic, focusing on domestic violence protective orders. She later served as a public defender, representing juveniles in delinquency and status offense cases.

She has focused extensively on family law throughout her career, representing clients in marital dissolution cases and high-conflict family litigation involving complex asset division, financial disputes, non-marital asset protection, child custody, parenting time, and child support matters. She is particularly passionate about issues such as adoption, child custody and welfare, and domestic violence advocacy.

Catherine recognizes the importance of family relationships, and is committed to providing compassionate client counseling by approaching each case with empathy and understanding. She believes in empowering her clients through knowledge, ensuring they feel informed and confident in making decisions that lead to favorable outcomes. She possesses many skills which allow her to effectively advocate for her clients’ interests, including her ability to negotiate beneficial agreements, her meticulous organization and management of complex discovery processes, and her proficiency in legal research and writing.
