Mike is a native of Cleveland Ohio where he attended St. Ignatius High School. He went on to complete his undergraduate studies at nationally ranked College of the Holy Cross, which he graduated from in 1982. Mike then attended law school and received his JD from American University's Washington College of Law.
Mike concentrates his practice in the business law arena, devoting most of his time in the following two areas: (i) general business and commercial litigation, with an emphasis on the rights and duties of shareholders, directors, officers and employees of businesses; and (ii) preparing the necessary documentation concerning the formation and operation of businesses, including business formation agreements and all types of contractual agreements needed by businesses in the course of their operations. During the course of his career, Mike has successfully represented clients in many jury and bench trials, acting as the first chair attorney in most of these cases. All told, Mike has litigated hundreds of cases involving millions of dollars, including cases seeking preliminary or injunctive relief. Mike believes that he brings a unique perspective to the practice of law in the business arena because his substantial litigation experience helps him anticipate issues that may arise in the contractual documents which he often prepares for clients.
Mike is also active in the community.
He served as President of the Board of Directors of Harbor House of Louisville, a nonprofit entity serving the needs of developmentally disabled individuals in the community, during the years 2011 and 2012 and currently remains a board member on HH's executive committee. He also coached football and lacrosse on a variety of levels over a 10 year period. Mike is a devotee of outdoor sports including skiing and mountain climbing/biking.
Specialties: Representing clients of all sizes in business litigation and transactional matters, including intellectual property, securities, corporate governance, white collar criminal and employment cases.

My family and I hired Michael to handle a claim against a large investment firm that we felt took advantage of our elderly father. We were successful in recovering what we considered a very fair settlement against that institution. We were very satisfied with Michael Valenti's help in resolving th...
"I have known of Michael Valenti for some time before we ever worked together on a project. My wife as Vice President of Commonwealth Bank's Mortgage Division has also known Michael. Michael can take and give advise. His practice has evolved over the years into the go to firm for businesses that need to set up, maintain or wind down operations or that are involved in litigation. He has shown his expertise in complex litigation and trials. Very few lawyers have his skill level, ability to get along with others or devotion to family and clients. I don't know of any other lawyer in Kentucky I think more of than him."
