In the Matter of the Welfare of the Child of: A. M. L., Commissioner of Human Services, Legal Custodian
Oct 24, 2022OUTCOME: The Minnesota Court of Appeals affirmed the District Court's decision.
By order filed after an evidentiary hearing, the district court denied appellants’ motion for an adoptive placement of a child based on sibling preference under Minn. Stat. § 260C.008, and ... instead granted respondents/foster parents' motion for adoptive placement under inn. Stat. § 260C.212, subd. 2(d). On appeal from that order, appellants argue that the district court abused its discretion by determining they failed to prove that respondent-county acted unreasonably in not placing the child with them.
