Our client is a young lady from the Democratic Republic of Congo, who came to the U.S. on a student visa. In 2012, an armed conflict broke out in DRC between the government and a rebel group. During th ... e conflict, soldiers came to our client's home and abducted her parents and siblings, accusing the family of being conspirators with the rebel group. Our client came to us for help. We filed an asylum application for her with the Asylum Office, which included documentation confirming her claim and legal written arguments prepared by Attorney Costas. Although the wait was long, the asylum office finally approved the Asylum Application. Our client can now safely remain in the U.S. and in one year can obtain lawful permanent residence.
