Betty Slade Derossette

Mrs. DeRossette graduated from The University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree. She then attended The Mississippi College School of Law where she received her Doctor of Jurisprudence degree. While in law school, Mrs. DeRossette was member of Phi Delta Phi legal honor society, in addition to being selected to be a member of S.T.A.R., where she tutored and served as a mentor for first-year law students.

Mrs. DeRossette is admitted to practice in all courts of the State of Mississippi, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Mississippi. She is a member of the Capitol Area Bar Association, the Mississippi Bar and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.

Mrs. DeRossette joined the firm to focus her practice on elder law and estate planning issues and to counsel clients about planning for possible incapacity and long-term care needs. Her greatest areas of expertise include helping clients meet their objectives in the areas of revocable trusts, probate administration, Medicaid planning and planning for individuals with special needs.

Originally from the Mississippi Delta, Mrs. DeRossette was fortunate to have been exposed to the practice of law at an early age. Having the opportunity to have grown up watching her father engage in the practice of law, Mrs. DeRossette gained a deep respect for the rule of law. Mrs. DeRossette also spent many of her summers working in multiple law firms where she was schooled in diverse areas of the law which proved to be an invaluable experience which enables her to providing the foundation that is necessary for identifying and meeting the needs of her clients.

Mrs. DeRossette enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and attending Ole Miss sporting events with family and friends.
