I have worked in the legal field for 15 years in Memphis. I do bankruptcy and have seen alot of divorce, criminal and civil matters too. I have encounted lawyers that will promise you the moon and leave you hanging out to dry and I have seen attorneys that work hard, but just don't always have the ...best results. I have used Phil Hinton in the past and was always satisified with the job he did for us pertaining to a Child Support case. When I needed an attorney to help my husband fight for his parental rights of his 5 yo son in Desoto County, I e-mailed Phil for a reference because I trusted him. Phil told me he handled cases in all of North MS. While I was hesitant the cost may be slighly higher when he would have to travel, my head knew the money would be well spent because I knew Phil knew the law and would do everything in his power to ensure we were represented to the fullest extent of the law. Our case was extremely complicated. My husband had thankfully always been a part of his son's life since Day 1, but other circumstances of our unique situation would not be easy to overcome. Phil knew it would be a long, costly road, but assured us that we would prevail. Our case also had 2 opposing attorneys that Phil had to deal with and one made every effort to not cooperate and run up our legal fees up out of spite. Phil worked steadily and calmly and never once swayed from the main goal of us getting to see my husband's son. In just 6 short months (although sometimes it seemed like forever), Phil took us through the Court system and our case was settled. We could not have asked for a better outcome. Child support and visitation was set and all the other legal technicalities were resolved. Phil was always there to answer our questions anytime, reassure us of our rights, and see us through all the way to Court (which thankfully was settled without a trial). There are no words to express our graditute for what he has done for our family. Phil cares about his clients, but more importantly, he cares about his reputation as a lawyer and to me, that's what makes all the difference in the world when someone is representing you in any case.
