Andrew Vernon Garner

Andrew Garner practices in the areas of business, taxation, finance, estate planning and estate administration law.  He has assisted numerous clients in negotiating and drafting documents for a wide variety of general business transactions, including stock and asset purchase agreements, loan agreements, employment and independent contractor agreements, non-competition agreements, and buy/sell agreements.  Mr. Garner has also helped his clients organize their start-up businesses as corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships.

Mr. Garner’s tax practice includes advising clients as to the tax consequences of various transaction structures, assisting clients in tax controversy issues before the Internal Revenue Service and the Mississippi Department of Revenue, and helping clients obtain exemptions from state ad valorem tax.  He has also assisted clients in designing and implementing their estate plans through the use of various types of trusts, family limited partnerships, durable powers of attorney and advanced health care directives.
