Joseph Michael Depew

Mr. Depew helped our firm with a number of issues, ranging from taxes to patents. His ego did not require that he alone manage our relationship, rather, he immediately reached out within his firm for additional specialized talent (patent, for instance) when required, but he still managed the outreach... to ensure that quality and budget were maintained. In other words, he wasn't simply looking to pad the bill. In all areas of law, Mr. Depew has been there with a quick return phone call. He'll walk you through not only the options, but the underlying reasons some options will work better than others. He will also do something that all good lawyers will do: restrain their clients from making bad decisions. I have learned over the course of my career that there is nothing worse than having a good idea when it comes to the law - I choose those who can shape our firm's execution to stay out of trouble. I wish I could tell you he litigated for us, but the simple truth is that he has kept us out of trouble. We've had some scary situations, facing down some big players who like to play law games. Mr. Depew navigated those waters with aplomb, and avoided costly litigation even when the opposing party had a reputation of using the law to shutter competitive doors. Enough said.
