A 1987 Graduate of Livingston Academy, David was the Distinguished Honor Graduate for the US Army Signal Training Center in Fort Gordon, Georgia before returning home to attend Tennessee Technological University. There he received an AS in Criminal Justice (1992) and BS in Sociology (1994). Later, David attended the Nashville School of Law and received his Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2008 and passed the Tennessee Bar Exam in 2008.
After serving over two decades as a Probation Officer working dozens of Courts across Tennessee at every level David chose to retire from probation services. After being appointed by Governor Bill Haslam in 2016, David continues to serve on the Private Probation Services Council and was recognized for his expertise in probation.
David was also a member of the Livingston Jaycees and held various offices including President. He was a member of the Board of Directors for Teen Challenge of the Upper Cumberland, a Graduate of Leadership Overton (2002), serves in Emmaus of the Cumberlands, as well as Central City Church.
David has lived all of his adult life in Overton County Tennessee where he retired honorably after twenty years of service with the Livingston unit of the Tennessee Army National guard, including over seventy-five combat missions in Iraq. David was admitted to practice law in the State of Tennessee in 2008 and in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee 2018. He plans to continue to serve the citizens of the Upper Cumberland area by expanding his legal practice in the areas of family law, divorce, general civil litigation, and criminal defense work.

This guy is a joke
How is it even ok to let this guy who used to be the county probation officer for years and loved teaming up with the DA to put your butt in jail become the public defender? You read that right. He was a PO and didn’t give no chances cuz he just wants to see all junkies go to jail instead of helping ...
