Pandemic and Divorce

I contacted the Whatley and Associates law office at the recommendation of my pastor as I was looking for an honest and godly attorney to represent me. After visiting with Jason, he handed me off to Cory Ricci. Cory jumped right in and guided me through what was to be one of the most difficult time...s of my life. Despite all the time delays, due to the courts closing and offices closing as a result of Covid, Cory was always up to date on my case, responsive to my questions and emails. I appreciated that Cory would respond to my emails before the end of the day. I found Cory to be focused on the facts and was very good about not letting the emotional aspects of divorce overwhelm me. He was able to direct me towards an outcome, not that I wanted, but that was reasonable. I appreciated his willingness to fight hard in my behalf. He comes across as easy going, but in court, I saw him fight for me when the situation warranted. I imagine that Lawyers can get jaded over time regarding clients, especially in a divorce case. I appreciated that Cory trusted and believed me as the facts of the case bore out. I trust Cory Ricci and was very pleased with the work of the support staff. Through their perseverance and hard work they were able to find facts that helped my case. Their guidance, assistance and patience was invaluable to me.

Down to earth and wonderful to work with

I walked in scared, not knowing what to expect. My divorce kept dragging on because the other party would not corporate. I had a very non-typical divorce. In court, he’s there, he’s present, always on time, and he is so well prepared. Cory was there every step, answered every question with honesty, e...ven if it was an answer I didn’t like lol. He cared and he fought hard and got me the result my children and I deserved. He never once backed down and the day my divorce was final I don’t know who was more excited, me or Cory. Sitting in his office you’ll feel more like you’re talking to a trusted friend. His office and the staff are very warm and welcoming. I hope I never need him again but if I do no questions asked, he’s the only lawyer I would trust.

An awesome attorney!

Jason and Cory took on my divorce and child custody case after two previous attorneys pillaged $60k from me and left me high and dry less than 30 days before the first trial date. My court battle lasted roughly 3-1/2 years. Jason and Cory took over about 1-1/2 years into it. I know a lot of atto...rneys. Of all of them, there are only 3 whom I would even allow into my house and that is NOT hyperbole. Jason and Cory are two of them. In my first or second meeting with Jason, he looked me square in the eye and told me that if I lied to him he would no longer represent me. I knew then that I was in the right place and talking with a very good man. Cory jumped into my case shortly after Jason agreed to represent me. If you are looking for someone who will be unethical, thug other people, hide your lies, or in any other way turn a blind eye, Jason and Cory are not for you. If you are seeking an attorney who will stand up for you, not allow you to get abused by the court or opposing counsel, who knows not only the current laws but also a wealth of case law, then you need to hire Jason or Cory. Or, if your case is seemingly an impossible obstacle to overcome, as mine was, then hire them both to work together on your behalf. I have lived my life in such a way as to not need to look over my shoulder because of how I have treated others. I sleep well at night, every night, with a clear conscience. After spending countless hours with Jason and Cory, poring over details and facts and years with them in courts, my conscience is still entirely clear because I know we fought hard and we fought completely clean. I am a follower of Jesus and how I treat others is paramount to who I am. Not only do Jason and Cory refuse to engage in dirty fighting but also stand as two guardrails to bounce you back into the lane of ethical and healthy perspective when you get lost in the emotional chaos of a court battle. I went through the hardest years of my life to this point with Jason and Cory running point for me. To force the truth of my case through the avalanche of lies and bias, under which my case had been buried by opposing counsel (an exceedingly unethical ambulance chaser of an attorney out of Nashville), required tenacity, logistical prowess, tremendous knowledge of the law, and, most importantly, an attorney who practiced law because of a driven passion for preventing and correcting injustice. And that is precisely what Jason and Cory brought to the table and the courtrooms on my behalf. Jason and Cory tirelessly conquered unjust obstacles on my behalf for over two years so that, in my opinion, we could force the court to deal with only the bare naked truth of the facts of my case instead of recklessly ruling against me based on a litany of utterly false allegations. Jason and Cory tenaciously proved false allegations to be false and forced the truth to the surface and, in so doing, they won me primary custody of my children. My court battles are behind me now. My children and I are back on our feet now. Without Jason and Cory, that would not have happened. To this day I trust them both without question and am proud to call them my friends.
