High school student brought action against school district and teacher, alleging that teacher violated his rights under the Establishment Clause by making comments during class that were hostile to rel ... igion in general, and to Christianity in particular. I represented the teacher, Dr. James Corbett, along with Erwin Chemerinsky, Dean of the University of California Irvine Law School. We were successful in obtaining a ruling affirming the District Court's holding that Dr. Corbett was entitled to qualified immunity. We also obtained an order vacating that part of the District Court's holding finding that Dr. Corbett violated the Establishment Clause of the US Constitution.
