Mr. Cotton is extremely sensitive to any questions or suggestions concerning his work. I am of the mindset that when one hires an attorney that he/she is subject to the client's preferences and wishes concerning the case. This guy was rude when I tried to ask questions, as if I was insulting his inte...lligence. In our case, he did not treat us as intelligent individuals who wanted to be involved in making decisions in our highly sensitive matter. The fate of two little ones rested on this case, and it seemed that we had to consider his feelings above what we wanted to see happen. Also, he quoted us a total cost, plus and hourly wage, saying that he felt like he set the retainer high enough to cover everything that would be needed. Then, after the first hearing (which was continued after very little discussion so the other side could prepare) he sent a bill for $1500 more. He had not even argued our case at that point and we were already $1500 above and beyond what he said would likely cover the cost of the work. In our opinion, this guy is not professional, not caring, not a team player, not a man of integrity. We wasted our money and don't know how we will be able to afford to continue our efforts to help these little ones...
