OUTCOME: Judgment affirmed on appeal

Mr. Augustini filed suit on behalf of two minor children to stop the father, the father's attorney and Wells Fargo for losses related to the looting of two multi-million dollar trusts. The original co ... urt appointed guardian ad litem refused to pursue the matter, so Mr. Augustini pressured him to resign. Mr. Augustini thereafter convinced the second guardian ad litem that the case had merit. Through settlements and a judgment against the the father's attorney, the minor children ultimately recovered substantially all of their losses. Mr. Augustini assisted the second guardian ad litem with certain aspects of the litigation.

Mr. Augustini represented the plaintiff in investment fraud case against an attorney defendant who had solicited hundred of thousands of dollars of investments from non-lawyers. Mr. Augustini obtained ... a judgment against the attorney defendant, but the trial court refused to award punitive damages or the full amount of his client's attorney fees. Mr. Augustini appealed, and the Court of Appeal reversed and ordered the trial court to award punitive damages and attorney fees. Mr. Augustini ultimately secured a judgment for $750,000. The attorney defendant subsequently lost his law license, was convicted of fraud and sentenced to federal prison.

Federal promissory estoppel case involving the sale of credit reports to auto dealerships. Mr. Augustini took over the case from another attorney, amended the complaint and tool the matter to trial. ... Mr. Augustini rejected a $100,000 settlement offer on the day of trial and secured a $1,600,000 judgment for his client, which judgment the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ultimately affirmed. Mr. Augustini assisted the appellate specialist who handled the appeal.
