Partial Custody for Ex-Stepfather
Feb 08, 2021OUTCOME: We successfully argued in court that our client was in loco parentis to his former stepchild. The court ordered that our client have regular and continuing visitation with the child.
My office was able to secure weekend visitation with his former stepchild. The client was married to the child's mother when the child was born. The child was not his biological child and he had not ... adopted him. Our client was the child's stepfather for over 10 years, doing all of the things any father would do for his child. After the mother divorced the father, she would not let the our client see the child.
