I was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. I attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where I got my MA, MA and JD degrees. I practiced law in Nashville for several years before returning to Knoxville in 1985 to join my current firm, which was then known as Morton, Lewis, King & Krieg. Since then, the firm has grown to almost 100 attorneys in Knoxville, Memphis and Nashville, and has changed its name to Lewis Thomason. I am proud to have been a part of my firm's success and to have associated with so many good people through the years.
I am admitted to practice in the state and federal courts in Tennessee, the US Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, the US Court of Federal Claims and the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
In addition to serving my private clients, I serve as City Attorney for the City of Sevierville, Tennessee, and am counsel for the City's Public Building Authority and Industrial Development Board. The City has a diligent, intelligent and honest administration that does an outstanding job of dealing with the year round influx of millions of tourists headed for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, as well as the day to day issues facing every city government.
