About Joshua
Biography
Josh Jones has been practicing law in Tennessee since 2003. Eight of those years were spent as an attorney with the University of Tennessee where Josh was widely published in municipal law. His tenure at the University involved serving as legislative counsel to the Tennessee Municipal League. In this role, Josh drafted numerous pieces of legislation regarding land use, zoning, open records, and other municipal concerns. Josh also drafted the Municipal Hearing Officer Act (T.C.A. § 6-54-1001, et seq.).
Prior to his tenure with the University of Tennessee, Josh served as an attorney for the state in Hamilton County prosecuting child support cases in juvenile court.
Josh has a Juris Doctorate from the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville where he was was awarded the IOLTA Public Service Fellowship and served as the Regional Editor of the Journal of Law and Education. Prior to law school, he received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Josh was born and raised in Maryville, Tennessee where he currently resides with his wife, Bonnie, their two children, Owen and Kathryn, and dog, Phinn. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Clayton-Bradley Academy.

Best legislative Attorney in Tn
Our City is very excited Josh will still be available to us as a resource for our current city atty, as well as mediation, and training. We are sad to lose him through UT, but he will do amazing things on his own.
