As a licensed Tennessee trial attorney since 2013, I have dedicated my entire career to criminal defense. I began my career practicing across Anderson, Campbell, and Scott Counties. Today, I am proud to serve as an assistant public defender in Campbell County where I represent indigent clients from the moment they step into General Sessions all the way through Criminal Court. When working on a case, we try to reach a fair resolution, but if we can't, we go to trial.
Jury trials can be stressful and often require late nights analyzing evidence, drafting motions, and preparing cross-examinations. I am known for putting in long hours, including Saturdays, because I believe that level of dedication is what it takes to be an effective public defender.
Personal Background:
My family is native to Anderson County, but I grew up on Army posts. My dad was a U.S. Army officer for 20 years, requiring our family to move frequently during his career. Both of my parents are originally from Anderson County. When my dad retired from the military, we finally came home to Clinton. I am a proud 2004 graduate of Clinton High School.
As an undergraduate student at the University of Tennessee, I worked as a clerk in the Anderson County Circuit Court Clerk's office under Barry Pelizzari, getting my first real look at how the gears of justice turn. During law school, I clerked at Fox & Farley under Bruce Fox and John Willis, where I learned firsthand how to handle civil cases the right way.
Today, my life remains deeply grounded right here at home. Sundays are reserved for faith and family at Second Baptist Church with my wife and our three children. When I am off the clock, I am usually spending time with my kids, attending youth basketball games, turkey hunting, or out at the shooting range.
